Trnovo ob Soči
Duration: 2:30h
Difficulty: medium
Distance / Elevation: 31km / 420m
On the left bank of Soča river you'll bike on asphalt and gravel to Trnovo. Return on the road. Many options to bathe.
Starting point: You can bike from anywhere in Bovec or from Alpicenter Vodenca campsite, however the map and description start from Polovnik campsite.
Description: From the camp's gate you'll follow the gravel road towards the church and just after few meters of small initial ascension turn right and follow the path leading to asphalt roads junction. Ride towards the airport terminal and turn left on the field lane that goes around the airfield from the left side. At about two thirds of the airstrip, turn left and follow the forest road till you reach an asphalt road at the bridge over Soča. Bike through Čezsoča village following the main road and stay on the same road until you get to the bridge at Boka waterfall (here you have the first option to bike back on the main road and make the trip 13,7km long). Continue on the left bank of Soča and in Log Čezsoški village turn left and than right on a field lane. After some two kilometers there will be a swing bridge which gives you another option to shorten the trip (it would make the trip 23km long). Otherwise stay on the left bank. The road is going to be more stony, but still bikeable. The next bridge is in Trnovo ob Soči. Take this one and follow the narrow asphalt road to the village, where you'll turn right on the main road. Now it's 15,5km left to Alpicenter Polovnik campsite. Big part of this trip goes by Soča river and gives you a chance to watch kayakers and rafters as well as the beauties of the river itself.
